I was a little anxious going into the weekend as it's been a long time since I've spent that much time with a group of strangers, and I also have strict dietary restrictions and was nervous about having someone else cook my meals. However, I was absolutely blown away at how understanding, considerate and creative Carrie was with her cooking. Her meals went above and beyond and were absolutely delicious. Carrie’s retreat was amazing! Right from the get go, communication was detailed and clear. She included what to bring and an agenda which made planning easy. The accommodations were great. A lot of thought went in to the area and appropriate space for a group of women. I liked that there were local activities that were offered as well as yoga and that the activities had been researched to include cost and availability of equipment. The food provide was outstanding! Carrie prepped the food herself. There was lots of it and great variety, meeting all nutritional needs. I loved the yoga. Carrie is an excellent instructor. She provides options for different levels making everyone feel comfortable and challenged if that is what you are looking for. Carrie’s attention to detail, her thought, care, humour and desire to provide a warm welcoming space to everyone makes her retreats special. I would highly recommend them and hope to go again in the future.

Carrie is a natural hostess! The weekend was very well planned with fun activities and outings, while still leaving space for downtime. The menu was so thoughtfully created, it was nothing short of incredible.
There was a balanced mix of yoga offerings throughout the weekend, from intermediate morning sessions to start the day, to calm restorative classes in the evening. The classes were taught by a few different instructors who offered a great variety of teaching styles.
Carrie, and the Root to Rise team, have an admirable ability to make a group of strangers feel right at home and open to connecting. If you are looking for an expansive and fun yoga retreat experience, you’re in the right place!

Root II Rise Yoga Retreats really are just that.....a retreat! You will find the space and time to fully embrace relaxation, eat amazing food and connect with incredible people. Yoga practices are a perfect blend of invigorating, restorative and meditative, and can be adjusted to suit all levels!
I think what really sets Carrie apart is her warm, unpretentious nature that illuminates the whole experience and makes you feel at home.
